As requested, I am providing the following overall looks (most of these have anywhere from 2–4 subvariations):

These are concepts, not finalized designs. The concept ultimately selected will be subjected to fine-tuning.
The theme image used throughout is presented as one possibility. It has not been purchased, which is why you see watermarks. This image can be purchased, or we can use another image of similar orientation etc.

It should be stressed with regard to the "bloggy" and "newsy" looks that we are talking about general appearance. We do not in fact appear to be heading in a direction where the site will be a blog site or even primarily a news site. So what is in view is the sort of things the design is reminiscent of, rather than functionality.
